Tyvian Jones is a liar who has built a reputation as a writer by appropriating his brother’s works. Arriving in Venice, he meets Eva, with whom he falls madly in love. But the latter lives an independent life, refusing to love and not wanting to be loved. Tyvian marries another woman, Francesca, but still loves Eva, which makes his life a living hell.
