In conjunction with the exhibition Serpent: Aboriginal art from Australia, on view at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (mYSLm) through Sunday January 28, the curator of the Fondation Opale and co-curator of the exhibition, Georges Petitjean, will present a conference titled The Rainbow Serpent on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Pierre Bergé Auditorium of the mYSLm.
The art historian Georges Petitjean has been curator of the Bérengère Primat Collection / Opale Foundation (Switzerland) since 2018. His main area of interest is the conveyance of Australian Aboriginal art―in particular the painting of desert communities―from their sites of origin to the contemporary art world.
