Angelotti has escaped from his place of detention and seeks out help from his friend, the painter Cavaradossi. Baron Scarpia, the chief of police, suspecting the painter’s complicity, manipulates his lover Floria Tosca by taking advantage of her jealousy. He blackmails her,  forcing the young woman to make a sacrifice against her will.

The superstar Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen―who wowed Met Opera audiences in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos and Puccini’s La Forza del Destino―sings the opera’s title role of a jealous and tormented heroine. This opera in three acts is presented in Italian with French subtitles.
