Botanical lecture series – Lecture by Dean G. Kelch in conversation with Madison Cox

As part of the centennial celebration of the Jardin Majorelle, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (mYSLm) is delighted to announce a series of conferences related to botany and
gardens, which will be given by internationally renowned botanists and garden designers.

The mYSLm will welcome on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 the American botanist Dean G. Kelch, in conversation with Madison Cox, President of the Fondation Jardin Majorelle, will discuss the evolution of cactus gardens in California.

Dean G. Kelch received a doctorate in botany from the University of California, Davis in 1996. He was the director of the Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery in Walnut Creek, California, and a researcher and lecturer at the University of California. He is currently an environmental program manager at the California Department of Food and Agriculture and a research associate at the University of California, Berkeley. Dean G. Kelch authored the essay “Cactus: The evolving landscape of an iconic plant family,” published in the Cactus exhibition catalogue. The exhibition Cactus, co-curated by Marc Jeanson and Laurent Le Bon, can be seen in the mYSLm temporary exhibitions gallery through Sunday, March 7, 2024.
